Blessing Store
The Blessing Store provides food for the needy people in our area. It is supported by contributions from individuals and groups, as well as food drives, and operates out of our Fellowship Hall on the third Saturday of each month. On any given month 40 to 50 bags of groceries are given away. Needs are also met throughout the month on an individual basis.
Prayer Shawls
Compassion and the love of knitting/crocheting have been combined into a prayerful ministry and spiritual practice which reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace, as well as in celebration and joy. Once the shaw is completed our parish nurse delivers them to those who have been prayed for in their time of need. The Prayer Shawls are given along with a prayer card. The shawls not only bring physical warmth and comfort but are also a reminder of the Congregation’s ongoing commitment of caring for one another.
Blood Drive
Every minute of every day, someone needs blood. That blood can only come from a volunteer donor. Once a year EUM sponsors a Blood Drive by the American Red Cross. Contact person is Evelyn Haney.
Lenten Project
Each year we do a special project during Lent that is over and above our planned giving. The support for this project is raised by special Lenten giving and the project is announced by the Missions Committee prior to the beginning of Lent. Some examples of past projects are camp scholarships for Handi*Camp with Handi*Vangelism; mosquito nets, water wells, and orphan assistance for Tenwek Community Health in Kenya; and Ranch Hope.
Boy Scouts
EUM is the sponsoring organization for Boy Scout Troop 59 and provides the meeting place for the troop and their activities. They meet in the youth room weekly on Thursday at 7:00pm. Contact person is Tom Branco.
Christmas Giving Tree
Each year Christmas tags are put on a Christmas tree in the narthex and our members purchase gifts for children who attend Kid’s Alley, an after-school and Saturday program for underprivileged children in Camden.
